This scanner is Great!! I would advise you to get programing software for it and a Radio Reference account.. It took a little time to figure it out but READ THE USERS GUIDE!!! The reception is great even with the stock antenna. I would give this scanner a 5 out of 5……

Uniden Digital Mobile Scanner with 25,000 Channels and GPS Support (BCD996XT) Overview

The Uniden BCD996XT may look the same as its similarly named predecessor, the BCD996T, but inside it’s a whole lot different. The new scanner significantly raises the bar with improved APCO-25 digital decoding as well as a host of new features and more memory. For those who like GPS scanning, a feature no other manufacturer offers, you can now enable and disable not only systems but groups as well. It offers a band-scope feature, a fire tone out search feature to help you determine the tone out frequencies being used, improved close call, APCO-25 NAC code decoding, and more. The BCD996XT is a huge leap forward.

Uniden is terrible – not uniden –
You will have to buy a subscription to[...] (as said by uniden) or spend hours programming horrendous amounts of numbers. The unit can be programmed by a computer but the cable supplied is old rs232. Most new computers do not have this, or you can by their optional usb cable $ 30. Uniden is milking it’s customer by making an extreemely hard to program scanner then sending them to buy another subscription and another cable. they are CROOKS. Typical american company.

Uniden Bearcat BCT8 BearTracker Warning System with 800 MHz TrunkTracker III Review

My wife ordered this scanner for father’s day, and she got it three days after she ordered it from Amazon. I plugged it in, switched it on, and got it going right away. FOR THE PRICE of this scanner, I am very pleased with it. Great sound, bright LED display, simple control panel. The only drawback for me is that the manual is not very helpful, but this is more of a problem with the user (namely, me) than it is Uniden. I also found the software setup more difficult that I expected – don’t expect it to be like adding a “plug and play” component to your computer, like a printer, for example. If you are new to scanner’s, I have to recommend this as an affordable, high quality unit, but you’ll need to Google information about how to set it up in order to maximize its capabilities, and I found YouTube had some great informative videos on the BCT8. There is also a magazine subscription included in the box which I may subscribe to in order to help me get the most out of my new scanner.

I have had scanners for years. starting with crystals and then onto programable. I’ve always liked bearcat and lately it has been hard to find one that you can program directly without paying big bucks. this one certainly works well. I don’t use the trunking function but all in all great radio for the price.

List it for!.
Besides this unit is worth this much, because it breaks down fast.
They should uphold for there own mistakes in listings info.
